Project Name: Fitzgerald Celebration Park – Springdale, Arkansas
Academic Level: 1st. Graduate Studio
Software used: Revit, Photoshop, InDesign
This 1st semester graduate project features an adaptive reuse proposal for a historic barn located in Springdale, Arkansas. The historic barn is one of the many structures in a site that used to serve one of the stagecoach routes that had significant impact in the westernization of the 19th century.
The barn, which the client identified as the main and must important structure, dates back to around 1850. The site is also directly adjacent to one of the Trail of Tears routes and some important Civil War battle fields.
The client’s request was for an adaptive design that would bring life back into the site, incorporate a source of revenue, and somehow continue to pay respect and direct attention to the histories that the site contains.
